Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication-Handicapped Children (TEACCH) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan, khususnya pengenalan huruf vokal dan bilabial, pada anak tunagrahita ringan usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain Single Subject Research (SSR) tipe A–B–A yang meliputi fase baseline pertama, intervensi, dan baseline kedua. Subjek penelitian adalah seorang anak tunagrahita ringan usia prasekolah yang mengalami hambatan dalam membaca huruf, tetapi mampu mengikuti instruksi sederhana dan berpartisipasi dalam pembelajaran terstruktur. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi menggunakan lembar cek kemampuan membaca huruf dan dianalisis secara visual serta deskriptif untuk melihat perubahan level, kecenderungan, dan kestabilan kemampuan membaca pada setiap fase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dan kestabilan kemampuan membaca permulaan setelah penerapan metode TEACCH, yang mengindikasikan efek pembelajaran yang bertahan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa metode TEACCH merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran terstruktur berbasis visual yang berpotensi kuat untuk dijadikan dasar perancangan intervensi literasi awal bagi anak tunagrahita ringan dengan karakteristik yang serupa.
